Stamped Mothers Day Card with ProMarker Tips and Tricks

The second Mothers Day card that I made this year is very different to the previous one, I used a stamped image of crocus flowers, and a couple of tricks with ProMarker pens to finish it off.

I used a sheet of purple Core'dinations card stock layered onto a white card blank, the image is stamped in black ink onto white card and colored with Amethyst, Apple and Mandarin ProMarker pens. I used the Amethyst ProMarker to draw a border around the edge of a piece of white card and layered the stamped image onto it, making it look like a layer of purple card that matched the colored flowers perfectly. I tied a plain bow of lilac gingham ribbon around the two layers of card across the flower stems, then mounted this onto white card and adhered it to the card blank. I used natural colored self adhesive pearls and colored them with the Apple ProMarker, again giving me perfectly co-ordinated embellishments. I stamped the greeting in black on to white card and again edged it with the Amethyst pro-marker.
I am very pleased with the co-ordinated finish that I got from using ProMarkers to color the background and pearls I will be doing this more often!

Mothers Day Card using Distress Inks

This year I made two totally different Mothers Day cards, the first one again used the blended ink background technique that I have been experimenting with and is very similar to the notelet card I made earlier.

To dress it up a bit I made a card blank from two pieces of cream card, the first was about 17 x 11cm and I made the fold about 3 or 4cm from the end of this piece, I used an edge punch to decorate the short edge. The second piece of card was cut to the same size as the long side of the first piece. I punched a couple of holes in the decorative flap and threaded ribbon through and tied a bow. I stuck the second piece of card to the back of the short flap to cover the ribbon and give a neat inside to the card.

The background is the same as for the notelet card and I used the same Grass Stems stamp for the image. I used a Mothers Day sentiment stamp this time and decorated the flower heads with gold adhesive metal embellishments. This was all mounted on to brown card and then onto the card front.
